I got this for my daughter before we left for vacation in Colorado but now she's using it weekly for a hiking class she's taking. It is lightweight and holds enough water for her for the day. We're able to pack an extra pair of clothes, lunch and snacks, and a few other trinkets in the main compartment and her field guides and notebook in the second compartment. I like the see-through compartment in the front, I can put her first-aid kit, wet wipes, and medicines so she can easily see where the important stuff is. She uses it every week for a 6 hour hike. She's been a bit aggressive with the bite valve and we've had to order a new one. Other than that, it holds up to everything she puts it through: creeks, farms with farm animals biting at it, rock climbing, biking, intense rainstorms, general throwing it around. I wish it was waterproof or had some sort of "raincoat", although we bought her an extra large raincoat that she can wear over her pack and that's working nicely.

My son was thrilled with this present this Christmas. He can't wait to take it camping with scouts. My only complaint is that it seems a little small. I am worried he will outgrow it fast.

I bought this for my boys and they absolutely love it. Excellent quality and is light enough for them to carry on family hikes.
